  • Prague’s Old Town Square

Max and Madison have lived together for over 3 years. Through their time together, they have accumulated just about every silly kitchen gadget that a millennial couple could possibly want (thank you, IKEA!).

If you would like to give them a gift for their wedding, they have set up a honeymoon fund in lieu of a traditional wedding registry. Madison and Max are hoping to make it to Prague, Czech Republic in the summer of 2020 for their honeymoon.

Our top 3 facts about Prague (that make us really want to go!)

  1. Alphonse Mucha was a Czech-born painter, illustrator, and graphic artist who became a central figure in the Parisian Art Nouveau movement. He also happens to be be Madison’s favorite artist of all time, so we definitely want to see the city that elevated Mucha to the level of Slavic cultural hero and icon. His museum is in Prague, and it’s supposed to be very good!
  2.  Josefov, also known as Prague’s Jewish Quarter, was the area within Prague surrounded by the Old Town in which Jews were forced to live. Today, the area contains some of the most notable historical locations within the city, including the birthplace of Franz Kafka, a 16th century synagogue, and the Old Jewish Cemetery, which is Europe’s oldest surviving Jewish cemetery.
  3. Infant Jesus makes his home in the Church of Our Lady Victorious in Mala Strana. He’s a 16th century Roman Catholic wax-coated wooden statue of the baby Jesus, and is the site where hundreds of believers come to pray and make wishes.
